JSPS Prize is established to recognize and support young researchers with rich creativity and superlative research ability at an early stage in their careers, in order to raise the level of scientific research in Japan to the world's highest standard.

Hyperpolarized MRI/NMR molecular probe is a next-generation molecular technology for highly sensitive measurement or imaging of biomolecular activities in vivo, which is expected to be applied to understanding the unrevealed principle of life and early diagnosis of diseases. However, there was a critical issue, a short lifetime of the hyperpolarized spin state that is essential for highly sensitive measurements. In this research, based on the theoretical consideration of spin relaxation, a design principle of functional molecules that can retain hyperpolarized spin state for a long time was developed.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all collaborators, Lecturer Hiroshi Nonaka, students and member of laboratory. I will continue to conduct research to realize "hyperpolarized molecular technology".
