About awarded research
Tissue-clearing is a useful tool for comprehensive and quantitative analysis of fluorescently labeled molecules in whole organisms at single-cell resolution. Conventional fluorescence labeling methods used for tissue-clearing allow three-dimensional observation of the "localization" of molecules in vivo, but it is difficult to target the "activity" of molecules. In this study, we focused on fluorescent molecular probes as a tool that can target the activity of molecules, and developed fluorescent molecular probes that can be applied to tissue-clearing. In this study, we designed and synthesized a molecular probe that targets the hypoxic environment in vivo, and reported successful observation of three-dimensional tumor hypoxia.
