Leading Graduate School

Leading Graduate School

The Program for Leading Graduate Schools promotes the establishment of first-rate university graduate schools by assisting in the sweeping reform of their educational programs so that their degree programs are recognized as world-class. To foster highly creative and globally prepared leaders in academia, industry and government across the globe, the program brings top ranking faculty and students together from at home and abroad and enlists sectors beyond the sphere of technical fields in collaborative planning to create courses of study bridging specialized fields and to ensure continuation between master’s and doctoral programs.
The School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo is involved in most of the nine programs adopted through 2013, and participation in these programs is possible from any of the eighteen departments.
