2026 GDN Springer Best Student Paper Award

The 2026 GDN Springer Best Student Paper Award is a prize given to an outstanding paper authored by a student who has not completed the PhD, among papers accepted for and presented at the 26th International Conference on Group Decision and Negotiation (GDN 2026).

About awarded research
In maritime shipping, the practice known as “Sail Fast, Then Wait,” in which vessels sail at high speed to reach a port and then wait for long periods at anchorage after arrival, has become an important problem. This study analyzes this phenomenon from a game-theoretic perspective and shows that information sharing among vessels can create room for slower steaming without changing the service order or reducing vessels’ utility. The study also quantitatively evaluates the effect of information sharing using real-world data.

Your impression & future plan
I am deeply honored that this work has received high recognition from an international academic community. Under the guidance of Professor Nariaki Nishino, I will continue to engage in practical research that makes interdisciplinary use of insights from economics and engineering and contributes to real-world social and industrial challenges.
