Outstanding Poster Award at the 32nd Japanese Society for the Research of Hepatic Cells
This award is presented to outstanding research and poster presentations at this conference.
About awarded research
The research title is “Analyzing Metabolism of Hepatoblastoma Cells with Novel Physiological in vitro Culture System “. Currently, cell culture technology is indispensable in life science research and is utilized in various fields such as drug discovery and medical care. However, conventional cell culture systems are generally non-physiological, especially in terms of oxygen supply and culture medium composition, and the results remain uncertain. Therefore, in this study, we constructed a novel in vitro cell culture system that can reproduce the in vivo environment in aspects of oxygen supply and culture medium composition, and analyzed the metabolism of hepatic cancer cells in the system. Through this study, we observed phenomena that were not captured by previous culture systems, and we expect that this approach will lead to the development of future cancer treatment strategies.
