On 4th July 2025, Arata Hashimoto (M2) , Sakai lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, recieved Best Poster Award at The 10th International Conference on Discrete Element Methods (DEM10) .
Best Poster Award
This award is given to students who have made outstanding poster presentation at the 10th International Conference on Discrete Element Methods (DEM10).
Explanation about the award
Rotary tablet presses are widely used for the large-scale production of pharmaceutical tablets, and the powder die-filling process plays a vital role in ensuring product quality. However, direct observation of the detailed behavior of powder inside the press, including its interaction with the gas phase, has been difficult. In this study, we reproduced the powder die-filling process through simulation and clarified its underlying mechanisms. These results are expected to contribute to the improvement and optimization of rotary tablet press processes.
