On 22nd May 2025, Assistant Professor Li Shuo, Sakai Lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, received 1st Ashizawa Award for Future Innovation.
1st Ashizawa Award for Future Innovation
This award is presented to young researchers who have conducted outstanding research on powder processes and are expected to contribute to the future development of powder technology and to play an active role in the Society of Powder Technology.
About awarded research
The construction of digital twins is of paramount importance in next-generation powder-based industries. Surrogate modeling has emerged as a key enabler in realizing these digital twins for powder processes. However, the foundational understanding of surrogate models for powder systems remains limited and lacks systematic scientific investigation. To address this challenge, a novel multiscale surrogate modeling framework has been developed.
