On 18th March 2025, Associate Professor Qi An, Department of Precision Engineering, gave a talk at the special event "Memoir of the Future" at the 30th Robotics Symposium and was awarded the Excellent Award.



This event invited young researchers to assume that they had won the
Nobel Prize in Robotics in the future and that their research had
significantly transformed human society. They then gave a retirement
commemoration lecture as their future selves, 30 years ahead.

The year is 2055. Robots have taken over laborious tasks once avoided by
humans, freeing people from physical work. In virtual spaces,
individuals are surrounded by friends and avatars, continuously
fulfilling their physical and social needs. Amid this transformation,
the most sought-after aspiration became "becoming one's ideal self"...

Comment
I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award. The vision of the
future was shaped through extensive discussions with many collaborators.
I will continue my research with dedication, striving to contribute to
the realization of a better society for humanity.
