On 5 December 2024, 60 first- and second-year high school students gathered at the venue.

Dean Kato's lecture began with a talk about the transition from high school to becoming a researcher, and his engaging narrative fully captured the students' attention. Following the lecture, a comment was made: "Dean Kato's story was engaging, and I personally found it to be a lecture that would be helpful in our future lives". We have also received many other comments, including, "I realized that the field of engineering is very broad, covering areas such as medicine, environmental issues, and social infrastructure, and that it has a huge impact on our daily lives. I became really fascinated by it", and "I was able to learn directly from Dean Kato about the ideas that researchers have, and this helped me to understand the content and the direction of research that we should be aiming for".

During the Q&A session after the lecture, Dean Kato kindly answered questions such as, "What is most crucial when presenting research?", along with several others.

He provided each student with an opportunity to gain new goals and perspectives, and he increased their motivation for the future.
