For three days on 28-30 July 2024, an event called "Learning from Nature for All in Minamiaizu City, Fukushima Prefecture" was held at Saitama City Tateiwa Nature Study Center for Young People in Minamiaizu Town, Minamiaizu District, Fukushima Prefecture.

This demonstration event was held as part of the joint Social Cooperation Program of Hulic Co., Ltd., and the School of Engineering, UTokyo, entitled "The Creation of a Truly Inclusive Nature-based Education System", aimed at creating a new learning environment in which all children can participate in nature-experience activities, regardless of their environment and circumstances. This is the second year of the event, following the 2023 event that was held in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture.

85 fifth-year elementary school students to third-year junior high school students from all around Japan took part in nature-experience activities such as insect collecting, mineral observation and looking at the stars in the rich natural environment of Minamiaizu. Professor Shinichi Nakasuka of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Professor Hideaki Miyamoto of the Department of Systems Innovation, both from the Faculty of Engineering joined the event and gave special lectures. The quiz tournament on the final day was a great success, with participants trying to win prizes consisting of minerals and meteorites.
