On 13 July 2024, around 500 third-year junior high school students and first- through third-year high school students attended the lecture.

One third-year student expressed, "I found Dean Kato's talk very interesting, and it made me feel very close to the University of Tokyo, which I thought I would never be able to aim for". Another first-year high school student commented, "I was worried about my career path, but after listening to Dean Kato's talk, I was able to shape my career path. I am very glad that I was able to get to know the study of engineering, which is a discipline that helps us face our dreams with all our strength and think about the development of human society". Following the lecture, there was also an individual consultation session for third-year high school students, where Dean Kato addressed in detail their concerns about taking examinations and the content of their research, and the participating students listened attentively to every word he said. Not only the students but also the teachers actively participated in the lecture and thanked us for the many inspired words.
