 About awarded research

Title: Nonreciprocal transport properties of GdTiO3/EuTiO3 heterostructures grown by gas-source MBE

Abstract : In this study, we fabricated perovskite oxide heterostructures composed of GdTiO3 and EuTiO3. Both of Gd3+ and Eu2+ at A site have 7μB magnetic moment, while Ti at B site shows a different valence state (Ti3+/Ti4+), which leads to the magnetic-polar interface system in GdTiO3/EuTiO3 heterostructures. In the electrical transport measurement, we successfully observed a rectifying characteristic as nonreciprocal transport properties originating from the magnetism and Rashba spin-split band at the interface of GdTiO3/EuTiO3 heterostructure. These new findings suggest that this artificial heterostructure is an ideal magnetic Rashba system to investigate novel transport phenomena.

Your impression & future plan

I am very honored to be recognized as one of the Best Presentation Awards. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prof. Masashi Kawasaki and all the collaborators for their kind support along my research.
