On 9th September, 2016, Mr. HOY Carlton Fune Ogasawara, Department of Bioengineering, wins a Best Poster Award at The RSC-TIC Conference committee to researchers with the best presentation and poster at this year’s 2016 conference.
<About awarded research>
The research presented at this conference relates to the creation of a system capable of the rapid and sensitive capture of a desired antigen. More specifically, an electrospun polymeric fiber mesh platform was fabricated and utilized in combination with a vacuum pump system.
This work is aimed to be implemented into a point of care microchip type device for rapid and sensitive bedside detection of a desired disease or analyte. I believe this work has the potential to influence the commercial production of rapid detection devices that can aid physicians in delivering immediate care to patients in need.
