<About awarded research>

In order to obtain reliable information from camera sensor networks in an intelligent space, pre-calibration of distributed cameras (i.e., determining absolute positions and orientations of each camera) is an essential task that is extremely tedious. Our study deals with automatic calibration method for the distributed camera based on 3D map information of an environment.

The proposed complete 6DOF (degree of freedoms) calibration system is able to construct a camera network system in arbitrary poses in the environment and easily calibrate its parameters simply. Therefore, we are hoping the scheme will be easily applied to construct the intelligent space which has distributed sensor networks.
