Two groups of the Department of Systems Innovation respectively received the Excellence Award at JSAI2018

On 8th June 2018, Two groups of the Department of Systems Innovation respectively received the Excellence Award at the 32nd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI2018).

◆Ohsawa Labolatory
Assistant Professor Teruaki Hayashi, Professor Yukio Ohsawa, Department of Systems Innovation, Received Excellence Award on The 32nd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence.

In this paper, we overviewed the changes in the environment, roles, and values of data, and proposed a visualization method of combining data from different domains "Data Landscape" by externalizing the
issues of Cross-disciplinary Data Exchange and Collaboration. We quantitatively evaluated the structural characteristics of the networks of heterogeneous data and analyzed the relationships among them.

We appreciate the honor to be awarded the Excellence Award on The 32nd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI2018). We thank reviewers, the committee members of
JSAI, and all the audience of the organized session. Of course, we are deeply grateful for the Professors of our department and the membersof the laboratory to support our daily research. The social expectation for AI has increased, and the discussions on the values and roles of data have been more and more important. The platform for data-driven innovation like the market of data where various stakeholders engage in communication about data is necessary. We are proud of that, and we will do our best in future research.

◆Yoshimura-Fujii Laboratory
Researcher Hideaki Uchida, Lecturer Hideki Fujii, Professor Shinobu Yoshimura, Department of Systems Innovation, Received the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI) Annual Conference Award.

We focused on the interaction between the electric power grid and the transportation network via Electric Vehicles(EVs) in this paper, and developed a microscopic model integrated two simulators among them. By numerical analysis on the urban scale network, we also reproduced voltage instability phenomenon in low voltage distribution system caused by EVs' charging and renewable energy.

We are delighted to be received for the award. We appreciate the great support of our laboratory members, every audience who deepened the discussion during the organized session, and the members of our department. This research was carried out under the motivation to deal with the future-oriented problem which is the interaction between electricity and transportation. Since this topic was succeeded at attracting people who are presenters and audience with a diversified backgrounds in the session, We were convinced of its possibility of further development. We will strive to do our best in future research.
