On 3rd Nov 2016, Mr. Hideki Sudo , Department of Applied Chemistry, wins a Excellent Poster Award  in the CREST “the study of regulatorymechanism of instinctive function which supports higher order brain function using fiberless optogenetics” 1st workshop.

This award was given to students who conducted an excellent presentation in the workshop.

<About awarded research>

Purple photosynthetic bacteria have light-harvesting complexes containing pigments of bacteriochlorophylls (BChls), which have conjugated molecular ring systems and absorb light energy. The BChls are arranged in an elliptical pattern in the light-harvesting complex. In this study, I investigated the deformation of BChls, and revealed that the deformation becomes larger as the BChl is closer to the long axes of the ellipse.

I am so honored to receive this prize. I would like to express my gratitude for a lot of advice from professor Ishikita, lecturer Saito and other members of Ishikita laboratory. This award encourages me to study harder.
