On 9Th June 2016, Mr. Toshiki Murayama, Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology(M2), wins a 109th Symposium on Organic Synthesis, Japan for Poster award. Symposium on Organic Synthesis, Japan is held twice a year and researchers is synthetic organic chemistry from industry, academia, and government present their research. Poster award is presented to selected students.

<About awarded research>

We have established the methodology for one-step construction of a substructure found in natural products synthesized by bacteria, fungi, and plants. This methodology enabled the significant reduction in synthetic steps, leading to the three-step synthesis of (−)-tetramethyldecanoic acid, a natural product secreted by a goose.
