Japanese Language Class of the School of Engineering 「tea ceremony session」

The JLCse held “tea ceremony week” at the office from Dec. 1 to 5 for international students who are taking Japanese courses.
For most of the students who participated, it was their first time making and drinking usucha. The experience was totally different  from having tea or coffee.
The students looked quite serious while making the usucha, but once they tasted it, they shared their impressions  with comments such as, “it tastes good,” “it tastes bitter ,” or “it has a nice aroma.”

Although there was not enough time to experience an entire tea ceremony, we hope the event helped them to become familiar with tea ceremony as a part of Japanese culture.
