Graphitic carbon nitride (GCN) has recently attracted wide research interest due to its metal-free catalytic activities. Despite its promising potential for ubiquitous materials, the application of GCN has been severely limited to heterogeneous catalysts because GCN is available only as insoluble powder. I have successfully developed a highly ordered GCN thin film by easily method.
I expect our anisotropic GCN film can be widely utilized as new carbon material.

It is a great honor to receive this award. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prof. Takuzo Aida, Dr. Daigo Miyajima in RIKEN, and also our lab members for all of their support. I will take this opportunity to activate and promote my research.
