<about awarded research>

We try to predict distances in terms of English pronunciation differences between any pair of speakers only using raw speech data. In order to make prediction independent of irrelevant factors such as differences in age, gender, etc., we used invariant pronunciation structure analysis for feature extraction. We introduced several techniques and finally very high correlation was observed between predicted distances and reference distances calculated using manual transcriptions.

It's a great honor to receive this award. I cannot thank my supervisor Prof. Minematsu enough for his kind advice. I would like to work harder than ever and make more progress.
