This award is conferred to excellent presentations delivered by students in the annual meetings of Biophysical Society of Japan.

〈 About awarded research〉
Photosystem I is a protein-pigments complex that catalyzes photoactive electron transfer in oxygenic photosynthesis. The electrons are transferred through two symmetric pathways, A- and B-branches, but it is observed that the electron transfer rate in A-blanch is higher than that in B-blanch. By using quantum mechanics / molecular mechanics approach, we revealed the origin of the asymmetric electron transfer.

I am very happy to get this award. I am really grateful to project associate professor Tamura and members of Ishikita Laboratory for their contribution. This award motivates me for further research on photosystem.
