Immunoglobulin G (IgG) has the high specificity for antigen and it is widely used as a tool for pharmaceutical products and the detection of proteins. However, IgGs have high molecular weight (150 kDa) and their disulfide bonds cannot form in reducing conditions. Therefore, the usage of IgG has been limited to extracellular applications. On the other hand, intracellular antibodies (intrabodies) overcome these structural difficulties. However, conventional methods such as phage display are used for selecting antibodies in vitro. Therefore, these methods need the secondary step to select functional intrabodies in living cells. Here, we constructed a new detection system for intrabody-antigen reaction in murine cells.

I am honored to win the award. It will encourage me to make more efforts for further achievement. I appreciate Prof. Nagamune and Dr. Kawahara deeply for their kind guidance and help.
